On Thursday December 24th around 0730, UVFR Stations 135 and 287 along with Stations 306 and RIT 230 were dispatched to the 900 block of Fifth Avenue in East McKeesport for the report of an apartment building fire.

Crews arrived to find a first floor apartment with the front two rooms well involved. The fire was extinguised withing 15 minutes and no additional extention was found.

The cause is under investigation by the Allegheny COunty FIre Marshall's office and the Red Cross is assisting the resident with shelter needs.
