In the early evening of September 9th, crews were alerted to the 300 block of Wall Avenue in Wall for the report of smoke coming from the first floor of a structure. First arriving personnel confirmed a working fire and the assignment was upgraded to include a rapid intervention team, the Allegheny County Fire Marshall and utilities.
Crews found a 2 1/2 story residence with smoke coming from windows on the first floor. Because the seat of the fire could not immediately be identified and the condition of the structure, a second alarm assignment was added.
Crews did find the seat of the fire and extinguished it while others performed overhaul and ventilation.
The cause of the fire is currently under investigation by the Allegheny County Fire Marshall.
Companies responding: 135, 306, 230 (RIT), 193, 213/214, 153, 113 (air), EAPS, Salvation Army, and the Allegheny County Fire Marshall
